Tubeline tiles, sometimes mistakingly called slip trailed tiles, was a popular way to provide texture, dimension, and decoration to ceramic tiles.
The tiles got the name from the process of placing tubes or lines of slip clay (a suspension of water, clay and deflocculent) onto the tiles. The voids created between the tubes were decorated with different coloured glazes. The resulting tile was unique and beautiful.
